Pixel Jumper is a free online retro platformer in the style of the classic side-scrolling games. Tips and Strategy for Pixel Jumper

Build up speed before long jumps. Your hero accelerates over a short distance, so starting a jump from a standing position will not carry you as far as a running jump. For the widest gaps, take a few steps back, run, and jump right at the edge.

Use short taps for small hops and a full press for big ones. Over spike beds, a small hop is often safer because it keeps you in control and lets you land exactly on the next platform. When stomping a blob, holding jump as you land gives you a bigger bounce, which is handy for reaching coins placed high above them.
