About Space Blaster
Space Blaster is a free online retro space shooter. You fly a small starfighter at the bottom of the screen while waves of alien invaders swoop in from above. Your ship fires automatically, so your job is to move, aim and stay alive. Destroy every alien in a wave to start the next, and see how far into deep space you can get before your three lives run out.
Each wave brings more aliens and new tricks. Green scouts go down with a single hit, blue saucers start appearing from wave two, and orange diamond ships that need two hits join from wave three. From the second wave onwards, aliens will also break formation and dive straight at your ship. Shooting a diving alien before it reaches you is worth double points.
How to Play Space Blaster
- Press Play to launch. Your ship shoots on its own.
- On a computer, move with the mouse or the arrow keys / W A S D.
- On a phone or tablet, drag your finger anywhere on the screen. The ship stays just above your finger so you can see it.
- Dodge red enemy bullets and aliens that dive at you. Each hit costs one life.
- Catch a yellow P capsule for a triple-shot, or a green + capsule for an extra life.
- Clear a wave for a bonus and move on to a harder one.
Tips and Strategy for Space Blaster
Keep moving, but in small steps. Enemy bullets travel straight down, so a short sidestep is all you need to avoid most of them. Big, panicky movements are what put you in front of a diving alien. Staying near the lower part of the screen gives you the most time to react.
Focus on the orange diamond ships first. They take two hits and they sit at the front of the formation, so clearing them early makes the rest of the wave much safer. When you grab a triple-shot, use it to sweep across the formation quickly, because it only lasts a few seconds. After you lose a life, your ship flashes and cannot be hurt for a moment. Use that time to get into a safe position.
